Start bacterial cell culture
Day 2
 
Prepare plates
Prepare competent cells
 
Transform bacteria with plasmid DNA
Grow transformed bacteria overnight
Day 3
 
Isolate and quantify plasmid DNA
Set-up restriction digestion
 
Prepare agarose gels
Separate DNA by Electrophoresis
Analyze results
Day 4
 
Isolate genomic DNA - Alu
Set up DNA amplification by PCR
 
Prepare agarose gels
Separate DNA by Electrophoresis
In silico amplification of DNA
Analysis of results
Day 5
 
Prepare recombinant DNA:
Prepare plates
Set-up restriction digestion
Generate DNA clone by ligation
 
Transform bacteria with the recombinant clone
Plate transformed bacteria and grow overnight
Day 6
 
Detect genetically modified food:
Isolate genomic DNA
Set up DNA amplification by PCR
 
Prepare agarose gels
Separate DNA by Electrophoresis
In silico amplification of DNA
Analysis of results
