New York—Oct 26, 2009—The New York Biotechnology Association (NYBA) is pleased to announce that NYBA chairman Dr. Sharon Mates (Chairman and CEO, Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc.) and NYBA Board member Dr. Barbara Dalton (Vice President for Venture Capital, Pfizer) have been named the honorees for Springboard Enterprises’ 2009 Winners' Circle Awards Celebration Dinner to be held at the New York Stock Exchange on October 29.

“NYBA is pleased and proud to have two of our own honored by Springboard Enterprises,” said Nathan Tinker, executive director of NYBA. “The commitment of Dr. Mates and Dr. Dalton to the biotechnology community is clear, and their support for women entrepreneurs is well known. NYBA congratulates them both on this achievement and award.”

The third annual 2009 Winners' Circle Awards Celebration Dinner, created by Venture-Catalyst Springboard Enterprises, is held in recognition of entrepreneurial women and the community that supports them. The awards dinner is the culmination of the venture capital forum “AllThingsLifeSciences 2009”.

Dr. Mates was named Chairman of NYBA in 2008.

Barbara Dalton, PhD, is Vice President for Venture Capital at Pfizer and leads Pfizer Venture Investments with interests in a broad range of therapeutics from small molecules to biopharmaceuticals and vaccines as well specialty pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, drug delivery and health care technologies.  She has been a member of NYBA’s Board of Directors since 2008.
